El «Chamaco» was born on March 19, 1943. He played as a Midfielder and his debut was in 1961 while playing for Colo Colo.

He received the Distinction for Best Professional Soccer Athlete (Chile) in 1973, for the top scorer in the history of the Chilean soccer league 1961-1982, for the best Former Athlete in 1995 and won 4 titles in his career.

His last club was Audax Italiano where he retired at the end of 1983.
